Traditions and Family

So, it's fall now. Well here in the mid-west, it cannot decide whether it's still Summer, or Fall. In any case, it's October, and last I checked, that is Fall time. Which means Pumpkin spiced latte's, boots over jeans, and caramel apples are totally in. I still haven't rotated my wardrobe, since it's still going from low 80's to mid 50's day to day (layers are key here)...either way Autumn/Fall is when our family begins one of many yearly traditions. Every year on October 1st, I decorate for Halloween/fall. Every.Single.Year. My husband used to look at me a little side eyed and wonder why I would even bother, especially when our middle was fairly new, and my oldest was then almost 11. This October I was quickly and excitedly reminded why... After sending my little sweet kindergarten kiddo off to school, I went home and dragged out boxes of decorations for Halloween. I put up the bats, the skeletons, and all the little towels and spooky whatnot's

The Return...to Doula work

It's time. I had slowed my doula work since the birth of Paige, and acclimating to two little ones that are  years apart. Now that she is almost two and a half, the decision to return to my passion and work is an easy one. I am elated to get back to doing what I love.  Staying home while the babies learn to nurse, coo, laugh, and crawl is something I decided was best for my family. Since every family is different, many families choose different routes after becoming a family. I had wanted to return when she was one, however, we weren't comfortable with daycare options in our area, and she couldn't yet tell us about her day to day. Those days have passed. (I really miss the crawling and snuggle coo's though, that's the best part of babies, oh, and the smell!)  So I just wanted to say Hellooooo, and that there is another Doula out here in KC!
